C++ Application to retrieve WHOIS information and update WHOIS info in MySQL database This is a very simple project for a programmer who knows what they are doing Keywords: Borland C++ Builder 6 / Kylix / MySQL / Socket Programming Application needs to be developed with Borland C++ Builder 6 using Borland's cross platform libraries (if any) so that from a single source code a Linux application can be compiled using Borland Kylix This application, using socket programming will retrieve WHOIS information by directly querying WHOIS servers and then update a MySQL database. Each query potentially needs to be done twice. If the first WHOIS server queried for a particular domain is not the WHOIS server of the registrar of that domain, then the appropriate WHOIS server needs to be queried to obtain the most accurate and up to date information. This application needs to support many different WHOIS servers. For settings of domain servers, see the config file of "domain punch" from Softnik. Besides WHOIS information it also needs to retrieve the following information for domains in our database: -IP address -hostname (sever name) Coder needs to communicate with our database programmer to ensure seamless integration of this application into our existing MySQL database. Specifics about tables and fields to use will be provided after we accept a bid. PLEASE NOTE: This is application is only to keep our database of our domains up to date and NOT meant for automated mass querying of WHOIS servers. ## Deliverables Conditions: Work for hire - We will be the sole owner of the program, source code and other deliverables All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. All variables/parameters/comments in source code will be named in English Packaging and deliverables: 1) Stand alone ready to run executable for Windows 2000 / XP that runs WITHOUT the need for an installation. 2) Stand alone ready to run Linux application 3) Source code, separate cpp file with a function that takes as a parameter a domain name and returns a list with the required WHOIS information. Important Notes: No reliance on M$ Internet Explorer or M$ development environment or M$ C++ libraries allowed!!
