Hello
I would like to create an App for the ipad and iphone which when clicked/tapped simply opens up a random web page either in the ipad Browser (Safari) or in the App's own Browser window if that is easier or better, (I don't mind which).
I have already written this project for the pc using VB .Net and it works very well, so basically I think I just need it converted or re-written to run on ipad and iphone.
How it works:
There is no database, I simply randomly select 3 words from a word list (from a dictionary word list text file - [login to view URL]) and submit them all to Google ([login to view URL]" + keywords) and open the 1st result returned from Google.
Obviously I can give you my code so save 're-inventing the wheel', or at least maybe save you time and effort.
That is pretty much it.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you with your thoughts, ideas, proposals, costs etc.
Thanks.
Regards
Greg

Hello Thank you for your kind replies. I am sorry for the delay in replying to some of your questions but I have hit upon a problem which could ruin this project. It appears that even though I am NOT using the Google API do do my keyword searches with my VB version of this project (the API we know is restricted to 100 searches per day). Well it still appears that Google is somehow restricting the number of searches I can do programmatically! I suspect this because I get no search results from my program now after doing about 100 searches today!! I am wondering if Google can detect auto submitted keyword searches (i.e. from a program such as mine) and can also monitor the pc which is sending the searches by detecting/collecting the pc's IP address and and pc signature? If so then they could restrict such searching and thus stop sending results back which would obviously put an end to using this searching method for my project. Maybe Yahoo or Bing are not so restrictive in which case maybe I could use them, or maybe there is something else going on?! Anyway no matter what is happening I need to find a solution before I can continue with this project. Any thoughts and ideas are most welcome..... Meanwhile I will continue looking for a solution. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Regards Greg
