simulation and optimizing traffic flows at signalized intersection using matlab

there are many factors that effect the traffic behavior on the signalized intersection , such that number of phases , the arrival rate at the entrance , delay patterns , and the timing diagram . in this proposed research , a method of optimizing the factors that effect the traffic in the signalized intersection . A microsimulation model shall adopted herein by using vissim or paramics traffic software , beside an optimization technique by using linear programming technique with taking the benefits of the abilities of matlab software . an algorithm shall be made that include the above techniques is applied on existing signalized intersections to get the most performance including minimum delay fuel consumption and queue length the result shall include the optimum traffic signal cycle length model with maximum capacity . the work shall include the following : 1. data collection of existing signalized intersection .
