I need an Android Service Application which will turn an Android Embedded board into a WiFi Access Point aka Tethering (must be able to do Infrastructure tethering not ADHOC). The embedded board has an Ethernet port as eth0 and Realtek USB Wifi. The underlying linux kernel is 2.6.34 and as far as I can tell has the relevant drivers accept for the hostapd program. Drivers include cfg80211, mac80211, 8192cu and 8712u and also has it's own android variant of wpa_supplicant. There is an open source project on google which does tethering, however it does not support Infrastructure for this particular device. The application will be able to run under the System user context which should give enough access to the system. It may also be possible to do this with scripting at the Linux level rather than having to create an Andorid Service, this would also be acceptable as long as their is a seperate config file for altering the Wifi setup and the start and stop scripts can then be called from an Android App.
