VOD Streaming server backend (Netflix/AppleTV style)

We have a project to open a VOD streaming service for a local retailer. We have decided that the Wowza streaming platform ([login to view URL]) would be ideal for our uses, and would like to hire an experienced developer to configure and customize the installation according to our needs. The backend must have the following functions: Metadata for each file - Release date, poster image, category, synopsis User authentication - with access levels (free, regular, VIP) Multiple languages - each stream would have 2 or more audio tracks and 2 or more subtitle tracks Category navigation - by genre, year, studio, popularity, release date, and recommendations Management interface - to view statistics such as user connections, most popular videos, metadata editing, etc. Wowza's streaming server solution can handle advanced functions like stream switching and load balancing, so this will need to be implemented too. We will be starting with about 2000 different videos, these will be divided among several servers and hard drives, so the server must be able to link to them all. The timeframe for this project is 3 months for a working version to use as a closed beta, and 3 months more for final public release. Before bidding for this project, please look into Wowza ([login to view URL]), read their documentation, download the free trial and see for yourself exactly what is the work required. Then, set it up on your own server with some videos of your own so we can see your work in action. If you are also able to handle the front-end of the project, please let us know as this will be posted as a separate project. This will include navigation for web, iOS and Android platforms, audio and subtitle track switching, user registration and authentication (membership will be on a per-month basis with prepaid cards containing a 16-digit code) If we are really impressed with your work, a full-time or partnership position may be offered.
