The Target audience is for children aged 6 to 10 - the middle reader or first chapter books. Please provide 25-30 pages of A4 or 12-15k words. Write a story that uses the traditional quest elements and story arcs and integrates some of the elements below. The story is about a girl called Chloe who goes on a quest into the Amazon rainforest to find the golden cacao tree which she needs to save the Easter Bunny who is dying. Without the Easter bunny, the children of the world will not have Easter. Chloe is six years old and lives in her terraced house opposite the famous chocolate easter egg factory of Messrs Williams in Birmingham, England. Every year the factory opens its wrought iron gates with great fanfare to allow truck after truck to load up with their famous fondant easter eggs and distribute around the world. This year something is wrong. The gates don’t open! After an hour of waiting the mayor, band and people go home and it looks like there will be no easter eggs this year. Chloe, intrigued sneaks into the factory that night and breaks into the loading bay where the trucks normally load. Inside she sees a large rabbit wearing a monocle and dressed in a bow tie, coat tales and an old crumpled top hat. The giant rabbit is pacing up and down mumbling to himself and looking at what appears to be a large rabbit hole with a conveyor belt that is moving but empty. The Easter Bunny tells Chloe that he is sick and can’t produce any fondant eggs. He believes it must the only cure is the magic golden cacao tree as this is the source of his magic and chocolate. Chloe is told she must go down the rabbit warren to find the magic golden cacao tree and bring back a golden cacao bean which will cure him. With some guidance and warnings and a few magic gifts (e.g. a magic chocolate ear allowing Chloe to understand the animals), Chloe shoots down the magic rabbit hole that takes her to the amazon rain forest. On her quest Chole has to deal with many obstacles and set backs and calls on the help of the numerous animals. Travelling by air, land and river, Chloe sees many lost glimpses of magical ancient civilisations and lost worlds. Eventually she finds the cacao tree but it is dying due to the pollution and devastation of near by loggers. Chloe is at her wits end as the tree looks almost dead. Unsure of what to do, Chloe wraps her hands around the tree and gives it a hug and sheds a tear. The tree barely alive uses the love passed from Chloe to produce one last golden cacao bean. Chloe takes this bean. Realising the tree is still alive decides to call upon all the animals to help rise against the loggers. Harnessing all of the animals in the rainforest Chole manages to divert the amazon river and flood the loggers encampment, washing the filth away. The golden cacao tree starts to recover. Chloe heads home to cure Easter bunny and easter egg production starts again. Some example animals to use.
