I have to solve the problem in Excel spreadsheet where COUNTIF formula counts the number of letters in a range BUT the formula should exclude weekends and national holidays (dates will be provided in a separate sheet). In my example you see that A2 states year and month. Columns AB:AJ show days of the month (in the screenshot only days from 23rd to 31st are seen) . And people record their worked times below from and until. Excel calculates the number of total hours worked. Employees record also absence, vacations etc using different letters. Columns AL:AQ (yellow) count letters. E.g. AN10 has counted 5 "A"s which is not really what I want. Cell AN10 should state 3, because 2 "A"s are during the weekend 29th-30th. I can not change the template! Formulas can be changed OR macro can be created which will recalculate the values across MULTIPLE sheets.
