I have a filling machine which provides a very simple information: It controls a relay every time something is done. It closes the relay for 1, 2 or 3 seconds - depending on the volume in filled. To integrate this machine into our production control system, I need a little box which I can connect to the machine's relay. Every time it switches the relay on, the box should check how long it is on and after that it must call a special URL in our network. It would be best if the box had a wifi card built in (or like with the Raspberry Pi, where you can very easy add a very small wifi usb adapter). If that is not possible, an ethernet connector would also be okay. You should provide me either the complete working box or a very easy description how to build it myself. (Please note in your offer, what is better for you)

Hi, Thank you for posting such an interesting job. My proposal is to build the complete system along with its software. It will be a very miniature box 3cm x 5cm PCB max size along with two screw terminals to connect to your relay. It will also connect to you wifi router from maximum distance 200-300 meter max in free space or within 50-100 meter in building area. It will also have an external antenna if the wifi router is in close proximity then you can remove that as well and in that case range will still be within 50 meter range. The system will have Wifi Accessing password and URL embedded into its internal program so there will be nothing for the settings. However, if in case you want to change that, then you need to reprogram the box using your computer USB. My bid includes designing the schematic, building the product and also the development of firmware for it. However, it doesnt include the shipping charges for it which may be additional 30-50 bucks in express shipping is desired. Complete system will be ready in 7 days which will ready to be shipped. You just need to add 5-12V power adapter into it and will do its business. Please note that the product will be made on home brew single layer PCB due to production costs. You need a device: - Connect to a machine relay - Detect relay switching - Measuring relay switching - Connect to a URL to report data/ get controlling command - Complete working box or easy description to build by yourself I propose you to make it by yourself. The simplest way for you is to use a Arduino based system. The system will includes three part - An Arduino board (selected based on the complexity of URL data exchange) - A wifi shield. So you just need to plug them on Arduino and work - A small prototype shield to detect relay switching. Hi Sir, I am sure I am capable to complete this project. This is the approach I suggest we follow to make it a cost effective efficient product. 1. Use a current sensor, which will sense when the relay switches ON. 2. Use a Nodemcu device which will directly allow you to connect with wifi-router with onboard chip and antenna. 3. Once current is sensed by Nodemcu it will measure the duration of persistent current through relay 4. Once current is zero, it will do a html get/post/access a URL. 5. The Nodemcu and the current sensor can be powered by any regular mobile charger. 6. The whole device can be concealed within box of size of credit card and only terminals being one each for power and the relay wire. Thank you. Hello. I understand that you want to detect when a relay is closed, take note of how long the relay is on and then notify a server on your network with a URL via WiFi. I can use a sensor (the type depends on the voltage rating of your relay) to note when the relay is closed and then an Arduino will wait till the relay goes off and then record the time. The Arduino then sends the time data to your server using a cheap ESP-01 WiFi module. But if you already have a Raspberry Pi, that can be easily used instead, with a USB WiFi adapter. I am proficient in Python so we can get it working within a few days. The circuit will have only 3 main components in it, at most. I will provide you with the schematic and a list of components to buy, as needed. I will, of course, provide the code and a very clear description of how to connect everything. Hello, My bid for all the design work involved (hardware and firmware) plus the delivery of an actual production quality device ready for your use. (So, please consider this when comparing between different bids, what each one actually offers to you.) You must specify from start what connectors you want to use (i.e., terminal blocks) for the relay contacts, and possible maximum box dimensions to fit it where you like. Regarding the WiFi connection, I suspect you want the relay-on time to be POST-ed to some URL. If not, please specify exactly how the URL will be used. I also expect you'll have this (or some test) URL available from the start for testing purposes by me during development, and for you to verify if the received data is in the correct format you expect. Hai, I am a electrical engineering student who has vast experience in raspberry pi and python programming. this can be done using raspberry pi, using python gpio library to check if the device is on or off and then using urllib library we can call the URL with arguments if necessary. there is not much of wiring work, only programmatically work is more, which I can do it via remote ssh from here itself. just building simple wiring I will help to do it. if interested please message me so that we can discuss further

Hi, i am well experienced in embedded system What is the data output from the machine? If the data is not fullfiling requirement, you can read voltage of the coil relay, so if you want to use raspberry pi, you will need an additional ADC module, but it is possible to use Hence i recommend you to use arduino with adafruit huzzah for wireless connection, or you can also use nodemcu lolin for cheaper cost i will provide you description how to build it yourself.. thanks
