Scope of work: Urgently in need of a competent and experienced individual to carry out a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) work of a relatively trivial complexity. This work has been previously carried out by me but unfortunately I lack a good working experience in CFD analysis and software usage and hence my results are not inaccurate and unprofessional. Hence a rework is required. The previous works carried out are summarized in the attachment. The required scope of work involves the CFD analysis of a vessel section (diameter 10m) with 2 tangentially positioned inlet nozzles diameter 0.85m each (see fig. 1 of attachment). Inlet fluid (liquid and gas but for simplicity, use gas only) velocity through each nozzle into this vessel section is 425m/s (yes, 425 m/s!). Once discharged into the vessel section, the vapor rises vertically to the top. Figs 1-9 shows the vapor inlet to the section without any inlet device. These figures also show sever vapor maldistribution at a targeted plane ("bottom of wash bed", see figs. 2 and 4). Consequently, to keep the vapor distribution at this targeted plane as even as possible, a vane-type vapor inlet device is proposed. The proposed vapor inlet device with vanes is given in fig. 10, 11 and 12 of attachment. The device is a channel boxed section, covered at the bottom and top, but open only at one side, containing vanes (between 15 and 20 for each inlet nozzle) through which the gas discharges (see fig. 12). Tentatively, the estimated vapor discharge velocity through each vane section would be approx. 28 m/s. At the above mentioned targeted plane, a more or less even velocity profile or distribution of about 3.2 m/s is expected. That is the velocity in the z-axis (see fig. 10) at the "bottom of wash bed" is expected to be approx. 3.2 m/s. There is a small vapor flow (0.6 m/s) vertically upward from the bottom of the "stripping section trays" (see fig. 2). A 3D CFD analysis of the fluid flow in this vessel section and in particular in the "bottom of wash bed" targeted plane is required taking into consideration the proposed vapor inlet device. Optionally for a higher fee, the scope would include the stress analysis of the proposed vane-type vapor inlet device based on the operating conditions as described above (operating temperature is 390 deg C and material is SS316 or inconel). Exact geometry and dimensions shall be provided upon request but the above description and attachment are well enough for the freelancer to understand the scope and provide a suitable offer. The final work is expected to contain at least 20-30 pages containing images of the 3D CFD analysis, velocity profiles, plots/graphs, calculations, result outputs etc etc.
