Convert Fortran 77 routines (approximately 1500 lines + comments) to a VB.NET or C# program. The program trials different methods of solving flow networks with linear algebra. This was part of a research project in 1990. We wish to do further work on it using .NET in Visual Studio, but need a coder to do the tedious but important job of converting the code first. Some effort should be made to modernize routines into modern flowing code - eg eliminating where possible GOTO branching, spaghetti code, handling arrays and objects efficiently etc. Restructuring, logic modifications, reorganizing, relabeling of variables, etc is permitted and encouraged if it will make the code and logic easier to follow. Routines are for research and testing and are not required to be of commercial release quality. Examples of typical output can be provided for testing purposes. Fortran output formats not required to be in exact format - output can be parsed to a CSV or text tab separated file or held in an array.

Hello sir, Reference your project description we checked the attached fortran file and saw all the codes as well the table format over there.. its perfectly fine with us. however i wish to know that can you also share the working fortan file during development so that we can cross verify our dot met version with the fortan to get the exact logic. Hello, expert in Fortran programming here. I can convert the attached code to .NET. From my experience converting old Fortran 77 code to a modern language like C# or VB.NET it is better to approach in a step by step manner. A tentative proposal: 1. Make the original code run and create some tests input/output (last part is very important). 2. Modernize the Fortran 77 code as much as possible: remove GOTO and global variables. This step will make the actual conversion easier. Check if the changed code has same results as 1. 3. Convert the Fortran subroutines to C# functions while ensuring the test results are close enough to the original (it will never be the same result down to the last decimal do to the way the languages do Math). 4. Final conversions and test.

Well, I have the experience you need. Actually I work at the National Observatory in Brazil and my main job here was convert a fortran program for C ++ . The Fortran program is named R2CGGTTS and performs a variety of mathematical methods to convert one type of satellite data to a more readable file. The original file has 2749 lines and after convert it I had to update some methods to make it read a more recent kind of files. If you want I can send you the files to take a look to my work. How I follow my boss's directives the .cpp file still have spaghetti code but I removed almost every GOTO. I can convert it to C# or VB, it's your choice.
