I worked for fourteen years in the UK during which time I held the post of Group Accountant (Corporate Controllership) within a NYSE listed group organisation, providing a world leading travel commerce Global Distribution System (GDS) operating in approximately 170 countries worldwide with a turnover of ca. US$2billion. I have gained experience in both UK/US GAAP & IFRS. My duties included amongst other things, the review of all accounting entries made in the corporate entities, preparation of the monthly management reports/accounts for these entities and working as part of a team to produce statutory reports that are filed quarterly/annually with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) (US) and other reports filed as required in the United Kingdom & United States. Being a large group, the Corporate Controllership team also prepared and/or reviewed all Financial Statements produced within the group for local compliance/GAAP requirements before being filed in-country.
