Essentially we have an program written in C++ using the AVR32 platform. The program is a client application that reads 128 bytes from its RS422 port, packages them with CRC, and then passes them onto the server via TCPIP. There is also 4 other main events (triggered by touch screen for 3 of them and magetic card for 1 of them) which require data to be packaged and then send to the server. I have a custom circuit board that plugs into a USB port and provides 10 Com Ports (RS232).? I am having intermittent problems where some of the com ports become non-responsive.? I have a custom Windows XP application written in VB6? that opens all 10 com ports and receives and sends data to the respective com ports.? There are intermittent problems where some com ports become non responsive to my application.? Closing and re-opening the application will re-establish the com port. I believe I have a hardware problem where the USB to Serial Chip resets intermittently.?
