I want to design an equipment using PIC micro-controller with MPLAB C , for Communication purposes. It is a single board with RS232 and RS485. It reads a port(could be switch) and send it to RS-232, then pass all the commands from RS-232 to RS-485 ans reverse. need a firmware , schematic and sample prototype. I simplify the previous project to be easier to deal with the bids.

I have a program that is written in VB.Net running on a PC. The program controls 2 RS232 communications ports: Port 1 is Data Received from an IrDA serial optical link. Port 2 is Data Received and Transmitted to a Wireless ZigBee modem. The purpose of this VB.Net program was to prove the concept of receiving data on Port 1, filtering the data string and handling subsequent actions and receiving and transmitting data on Port 2. My requirement is to take this VB.Net program and rewrite to be used in a microprocessor. I have a custom circuit board built by a local Colorado, USA engineering company that plugs into a two USB ports and has three Texas Instruments four port USB hubs and then provides 10 Com Ports (RS232). I am having intermittent problems where the hubs drop off of Windows and then the com ports disappear. They don't have expertise in USB so can't offer a fix for the issue. Restarting Windows will re-establish the hubs and then com ports to functionality, although the hubs and com ports will drop off again anywhere from 6 hours to two weeks later. I have a custom Windows XP application written in VB6 that opens all 10 com ports and receives and sends data to the respective com ports. The USB to Serial chip is the FT232R made by FTDI:
