MySQL Expert required for optimization

Hi All,

I'm using MySQL (Version 5.X) on Windows platform (Windows 2003) and handling millions ( may reach to billions too) records and I have seen system going slow recently. It' using InnoDB and I'm looking the best possible way to optimize this server. I'll also use replication to other databases and looking for advice from very experienced person.

About Hardware, It's Dell RAID 5 SAS, Intel Xeon CPU 2.5 GHz , 8GB RAM. 1 TB Hard Disk ( Too much space).

My problem is not CPU or space. I think problem is with only configuration and the way MySQL is managing IO to data files or some flaw in database design itself.

You must know MySQL internals ( at least from user's point of view) very well and all configuration options like usage of innodb_data_file_path & innodb_file_per_table etc...

I'm at critical point as need to use replication mechanism to other DB servers and want to establise first DB server before doing it.

I'll contact you ASAP ( within hours). So please respond me if you have good experience using MySQL.
