This project is about extracting data from Greyhound racing Websites and creating a fully searchable database based on set criteria.

It doesn't matter where the data is extracted from however a good example is here

If you find better/easier sites then that can also be used.

Clicking on any of the View Meeting Links on the example url shows the entire meeting's race results.

I am purely after the following data

Finishing Position, Trap, SP (converted to decimals), Time/Sec

Part 1 -

A script will need to be written to go through all the previous meetings ( On this website the results go back 1 month )

and put the data into an appropiate database.

The script will need to be able to be run daily to collect the latest updated data as each day passes.

Part 2 -

I then want to be able to search through the database using criteria similar to

If Trap x and Trap y are over 6 in odds list all races where trap x won.

Another example would be

If Trap x is < trap y and Trap z > trap y list all races where trap z won.

I am open to suggestions as to whether this will be a web based script or an actual application.

If it is web based - this will need to be installed on my server eventually which uses mysql.
