Changes to Chatroulette clone site

I purchased a Chartoulette clone website and have got it up and running. I connected and the application correctly stated there was 1 user online. However when tested with another person, the other person could not connect to the Adobe Status servers. I could but they couldn't.
So the first and main part of the project is to determine what is not working with the backend technology.
The second part is to make category filtering. I have 3 or 4 categories in mind for the type of person you would want to connect to. I need this logic implemented.
If this works out (meaning it's clear you know flex), I would like to make another round of additions to the site. So we would be able to hop right into that project.
