Create Self Signed Java Applet

I need a Java component that will allow users to select a file on their computer from my web page and save the path of the file they select to a field on the page. This component must be signed so that the user will be able to authorize/always allow the component to run and will not get messages each time they use it.

primarily this is a project about dealing with the certificate/self signing of the component, I already have the working code for the selection of the file. this should be an easy project for someone who understands creating a java cert/self sign cert.

I need this right away. I am open to ideas.
