I've started reading on a kindle and typically side-load relevant books onto the device through an application called Calibre. This is a bit of a cumbersome process; however, I've discovered that getting .cbz files into a format for the kindle at an appropriate file size is a huge hassle which although possible through various bits of separate pre-existing software is extremely time consuming. Raw .cbz files are essentially just renamed .rar archives containing a list of images (usually in jpg format) and can be quite large in size if the source quality is anything beyond a blurry mess.
