The current project is “The COOL:GEN Remediation “ to transition logic and processing off the Mainframe into a J2EE-based Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). This Projects aims at expanding and modifying the current OneWeb Model framework to accommodate the new RPS Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) that will replace the COOL:Gen transactions with new services in the RPS SOA. This project sets the benchmark for all COOL:Gen remediation and the basis for RPS transition to a robust J2EE environment that will increase productivity and reduce support costs. This project leverages the IBM WebSphere Application Server environment, EJB technology that is not currently being used by the touch point applications. This technology allows the processing to be distributed across many machines providing horizontal and vertical scalability as well as load balancing and redundancy.
