I am studying at the Australian National University for a Master's degree in Actuarial Studies. I completed my Bachelor's degree at the University of Melbourne (majored in Statistics), and completed Year11 & 12 at Lake Joondalup Baptist College in Joondalup ( Perth ) . I grew up in Jakarta , Indonesia which means 'Bahasa Indonesia' is my first language , and I can also speak English fluently. I am quite computer-literate (in R, Python). In this publication, I wrote about how our society is increasingly adopting values that are far different from the values our ancestors used to adopt. This is reflected in the drug laws that are upheld, especially in western cultures, where alcohol and speed are OK, whilst psychedelia are deemed unsafe. The significance of this topic is due to the possibility of losing our ancestors' knowledge and wisdom.

The Hero's Horizon

In this piece, I gave my take on what "horizons" found in movies such as Star Wars might mean and their significance in our lives. I think that they represent the domain of the unknown, and what's fascinating about movies are, that they show us what heroes do in the face of the unknown. The unknown surrounds us in our daily lives, and perhaps, archetypal hero stories are showing us an admirable way of life to imitate.
