Wordpress Url rewrite

Ok. I have Wordpress site with same slug for page and Custom Post Type

So page name is "event" and CPT is "event"

Now what I want is if I create child page - "event1",its url is "localhost/wp/event/event1"

also if I create CPT event2 - its url is "localhost/wp/event/event2"

Now as Wordpress gives priority to CPT instead of pages,it gives 404 on above "localhost/wp/event/event1"

So,want I rewrite to solve this 404 and want it thus

If CPT exists - it displays that but if it doesnt exist - it looks for page name

It is essential to have same slug for both,so pls dont advice to change name

You need to implement in your local ,test and tell me solution
