Upgrade Magento from 1.4 to 1.8

Project Description:

We have an e-commerce website in Magento 1.4.0. We need to upgrade to 1.8.

The current layout is custom. We will change to take a STANDARD layout with ROTATING PICTURES and FULL FRAME and VARIABLE WIDTH.

We have 5 websites running on one Magento installation. We are using 3 currencies. We have 2 separate Warehouses with separate inventories. The system will run on a new E5620 Dual Quad Core (Lin.) dedicated Linux server.

We have a number of extensions, some of these must be updated, some can be discarded:
