I am looking for a VB6 expert that has experience with adding CAPTCHA support for eBay.

I have a software tool created in Visual Basic 6.0 that is an eBay scaper tool.

It scraps data when using ebay's seller search feature. For example:

[url removed, login to view];since=30&userid=discounttown&include=0&rows=50&sort=3&completed=1

It not only scraps data from those result pages, but also visits each link to each item page and scraps data from there too.

The problem is eBay has recently implimented a CAPTCHA on these pages to avoid scraping tools like mine :-)

The CAPTCHA seems to popup at a random time (not everytime). You seem to be able to scrap a couple result pages or a few hundred items before the CAPTCHA pops up. But once it pops up once and eBay detects what you are doing it seems to popup a CAPTCHA much more frequent like EVERY page or even every few items.

This makes the scraping tool pretty much useless now unless a CAPTCHA solution added.

I realize automatic CAPTCHA support is pretty much impossible (or atleast too difficult or expensive to attempt) so that is NOT what I am looking for.

What I AM looking for is someone that has experience intergrating CAPTCHA support into a VB6 tool.

I have seen MANY software programs that have CAPTCHA support intergrated into it. By "CAPTCHA support intergrated" I mean the software program grabs the CAPTCHA image from it's source (eBay) and displays it in MY software's own GUI. The user must then manually enter the CAPTCHA characters for the software tool to continue.

To be honest I think this will be easy part of this project for someone with CAPTCHA experience.

The task I feel will be more difficult is getting eBay to NOT popup the CAPTCHA every item or page after you have been detected and entered the CAPTCHA for the first time.

I don't even know if this is possible. I have no idea how ebay detects you. IP address, session, cookies, etc.

So part of this project will be finding a solution that will be after entering the CAPTCHA to trick eBay into thinking you weren't detected before.

This would atleast allow the user to go another few result pages and/or a 100 or so items without having to enter the CAPTCHA again.

I don't know how you would do this? Delete cookies after CAPTCHA, blow session after CAPTCHA, adding proxy support, etc.

So to summarize there are 2 parts of this project:

1. Adding the CAPTCHA image support into my software GUI.

2. Figuring a way so eBay doesn't detect us again so frequently after CAPTCHA.

The truth is if you can do #1 and NOT #2 the scraper is still useless as there is no way I am interested in entering a CAPTCHA every page or every few items scraped.

So please ONLY bid if you feel you can accomplish BOTH goals!

If this sounds like a project that might interest you please BID and send me a Private Message as to why I should choose you and how you feel you can solve this issue.

Here are some important qualities I am looking for:

- You MUST offer good communication. You must be available via Instant Messenger and respond to emails in a timely fashion.

- You MUST have excellent English speaking/typing skills.

- You MUST have excellent ScripLance feedback.

- I ONLY work with individuals. Outsourcing firms & companies please don't waste your time bidding.

- Once complete all source code will be supplied to me and I will own and retain ALL rights to the software.

NOTE: Best way to win this project is to PMB me with code samples showing me your skills and describing why I should pick you for this project.

I am constantly over-loaded with projects and looking to work with excellent programmers. If this project goes well I am looking to build a long relationship with you.

Thank you and Happy Bidding :-)
