I want to create a lexicon as a basis for different tasks in Natural Language Processing. There is a free tool from Xerox that is well-suited for this purpose. Your task would be to create a structure for the lexicon that covers all the important rules for inflection and word formation. The lexicon must be filled with example words (overall perhaps 500 words) and tested, so that additional words could later be entered easily at the appropriate places.
You can do this either with a linguistics background or with a computer science background. In the former case, you need to be "computer literate" for downloading, installing and testing the tools. In the latter case, you need to have experience with lemmatization, spellchecking or similar tasks. Since the data are for German, good understanding of German is required, but it definitely does not have to be perfect.
