ETL download conditional on Last-Modified date on server

Hello,
I am writing an ETL proces which downloads files based on a list on a server.
I am using Pentaho KETTLE ETL.
I would need a job that:
- gets the file list and properties from DB list (includes lastModified date)
- checks if the Last-Modified date on the server is more recent than what is flagged on the list
- download if more recent (and update lastModified on DB list), skip otherwise
