Dear all,
I would like to have a functional addition on open source OSTicket Ticketing Software, as described below.
HOW THE TICKETING SOFTWARE WORKS FOR ME
OSTicket Ticketing Software is an open source software where users can send support tickets to me and my team so we can resolve them.
When the users create a ticket, the status of the ticket is "unassigned" until someone assigns it to someone.
WHAT I NEED
When a new ticket is created, i need the website tab to be highlighted so i can see that there is a new ticket while working on another website. This is the same functionality that Gmail has (when a new email arrives, the website tab turns to light blue / highlighted and it is obvious that a new email has arrived).
REQUIREMENTS
1. The website tab must be highlighted or show the number of unassigned tickets, either when
a) there is an unassigned ticket (so you have to check the database on every automatic page reload)
or
b) when a specific word exists on the "open tickets" page (for example, we have changed the code so that unassigned tickets write the word "unassigned". If you can search the page on every automatic page reload and count how many times the word "unassigned" appears on the page, this is also an accepted solution)
or
...suggest any other way.
2. This should be available for all browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc).
3. I use the latest version of OSTicket, so you can download it from the website and install it.
4. Create a detailed step-by-step manual to give me instructions how to do it myself, as i cannot give you access to my ticketing system. Please have screenshots and commented code and describe exactly where i should locate each piece of code (file and line). Also, send me all changed files from your side, to double check my changes.
