Create a search function for a website

We need a search feature implemented on our current website. We want the search box to be located on every page and be able to search every article/page on the site and return the results in a list that will allow the user to click on the items and go to the article/page.
It MUST be stand-alone and once you are done helping us implement it, it must be able to search all new content that we continue to add to the site.
