Web Site Scraping/Data Import Automation Tool or Data Entry Work

We are looking for? data entry? assistance to? seed the MySQL database backend for a new Web site? launching? this Fall.

There are two ways you can bid on this project:

1) Bidding? to write CODE (script, etc.) that will handle the import/harvesting of a full set of product (title, model number, description) and manufacturer info (name, address, phone, fax, website, etc.) from various website resources containing the data we need to import into our database.

or

2) Bidding to manually input data by hand (up to $5/record paid). In this case, the following applies:

Applicants must have? fast and accurate? typing skills (60WPM min),? strong Internet-based research skills,? and? **great tenacity and attention to detail**. We ultimately need to gather thousands of product? records? (including company information) across many industries.

The data entered? must be 100% accurate? and complete.? You may bid on entering fixed sample size, which will? be used as a basis for evaluation of your work. If the sample entry work is deemed to be of acceptable quality,? a long-term relationship? may be established from there.

We will expect to see continual, ongoing data entry? progress once work has commenced. The total amount of data that needs to be collected over time is? extremely large, so there will be plenty of work long-term for any party that we develop a successful relationship with.

Note that you WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN AN NDA before you can begin work on this project.

## Deliverables

TERMS FOR CODE WORK:

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

TERMS FOR DATA ENTRY WORK:

1)? 100% complete and accurate data entry of 1000 product records (in normal English text, with proper usage of grammar, upper and lowercase/capitalization, formatting of address, phone and similar information)? and associated information into? Buyer's data entry website interface.

2)? Examples/samples? of? record data, along with specifics on the type and category of product information? will be provided? to? Seller by Buyer prior to commencement of work.?

3) Progress of data entry work must be performed at a? rate which is? generally consistent and appropriate for the given deadline.

4)? Buyer reserves the right to withhold payment, cancel, or arbitrate in the event that data entry work is deemed to be of unacceptable quality or? rate of progress? of? data entry? is insufficiently slow.

1.? ? ? ? ? ? Data entered as part of this project must be fully complete and 100% accurate data (no payments will be rendered for data found to be? incomplete or inaccurate).

2.? ? ? ? ? ? All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

All English writing-related deliverables MUST be of grammatical, structural and logical quality commensurate with written English in a professional journal (unless otherwise stated by the Buyer). If you are a non-native English speaker you are STRONGLY CAUTIONED against bidding, or if you are uncertain for any reason that you can meet this requirement.

4.? ? ? ? ? ? In general, all deliverables MUST be either publicly available, non-copyrighted information, OR completely your own original work. If your own original work is provided, such deliverables may not be taken (in whole or in part) from any work that you do not have full copyrights to.

5.? ? ? ? ? ? If the Buyer agrees to allow you to quote material from other sources, you must surround that material with quotes and cite the source with enough detail so it can be verified.

6.? ? ? ? ? ? The buyer may agree to allow you to paraphrase material from other sources. This is legal when the work is considered "[Fair Use][1]" (which generally means it will NOT be used commercially and ONLY for educational purposes). When this is the case, you must follow generally accepted standards for paraphrasing.? Merely rearranging words and phrases from another source is considered plagiarism and is illegal.? To correctly paraphrase, you should read the original and then close the book/source so you cannot see it and then write the entire material from scratch using your own words.

7.? ? ? ? ? ? If your work infringes upon any copyright(s), you will forfeit all escrowed funds under the terms of ""fraud"" in your contract and may have your account suspended. DO NOT BID ON THIS PROJECT, unless you fully understand United States copyright law and its ramifications to you as the Seller.
