ART STYLE
I want to capture the essence of ancient China. With that being said, I see in my head like a watercolor with black ink...some color...zero backgrounds or very subtle inked backgrounds. I will share some examples. Although this is what I see, I am very open to a new style that fuses both new and old style. I want this book to be unique and experimental, yet, classic and Chinese.
ABOUT PROJECT:
We will need:
-bid will be for 22 illustrations
-all source files (psd in layers) and jpegs
-a full-copyright transfer
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in traditional Chinese and cartoon illustration styles
- Ability to create detailed landscapes and expressive characters
- Knowledge and understanding of Chinese culture and folklore
- Strong storytelling and narrative skills
- Attention to detail and ability to capture the essence of the folktale in the illustrations
NOTE TO UPWORK FREELANCERS:
This book is about a Chinese folk tale. I want to capture the style of ancient China through the illustrations. I would love the illustrator to have some Chinese background. If you have a dual citizenship, that could be beneficial to awards as some awards require both author and illustrator to be a US citizen. While this is a request, it isn't necessary though as I will choose an illustrator that captures the essence more than anything.
