Illustrator File - MOUNTAINS

I need some mountains fixed on a file. I have the shape down, but need assistance with the shading and contour of the mountains in the front of it. Someone also said that the file has a lot of layers of garbage in it. I would like it cleaned up so if I need to use it in the future, there are not layers not needed.
The files attached is "Denali new" - this is the actual mountain I am trying to emulate. Please dont change the outer edge of mountain (the shape). I need help on the shading of the mountain INSIDE.
