Photo (Lightbox) Resizing

I have a website that allows you to click on photos and they pop out as a light box with comments. But every time I upload a photo they all upload different sizes. I want all photos (no matter what resolution or size) they are to upload at a fixed dimension so when you look through different photos they are consistent. I want the photos to all fit most of the screen if possible. Thank you!
