a Regenerative music app template for myself. ( I will do graphics and may put it into apple app store )
Intro: a regenerative piece, is a musical composition that in theory, could go forever with not repeating itself. The app plays only one song!, but every time it is played, it sounds slightly different, because there is a randomness perceived on the time and phrases played by the instruments. It is made of sequential short ACC files. Six files will be layered at once, all the time, like a six stereo track recorder / player.
EACH track plays say, 10 second ACC, then another one at 20 seconds, then another at 15 secs …. etc.… 24 in total, played in random.
you can imagine this: At an art gallery, were a "sound artist" created six custom CDaudio discs, each with 24 audio tracks. when the gallery opens, the security guard goes and plays "random repeat play" on six different boom boxes ( CD players ). it does not matter if they are out of sync.
the gallery visitors can listen to six boom boxes / cd players at once. each, is actually an instrument, so in fact it a sextet, or a band with six players….they play in harmony, but not on the same beat !!! It sounds VERY complicated, but in fact, it will be a very simple app. ! once you understand the app ( the most difficult part ) the code will be a few lines of maths, rules etc.
