Contest Brief

We are a bookkeeping business based in South East Queensland - Australia.

I want someone to come up with an exciting description of what we do that I can use when people ask what we do without me putting them to sleep.

Our Website: www.Alexilum.com.au.

Services are broken into 4 key areas: Bookkeeping, Payroll, Insights / Reporting, Systems / Mentoring.

I've been calling it Bookkeeping+, with the plus (+) being everything that goes around the Bookkeeping and makes up the other services.

I feel like as soon as I say 'Bookkeeping' people just assume what it is that we do and switch off.

One of our core goals is to empower owners to better understand the financial position of their business.

I need a marketing guru with a silver tongue to help me spice it up a bit so people ask more about the services rather than making assumptions and switching off.

It can be a bit corny if it works, just not so much it turns people off.

Hello Sam -- I was busy and could not submit my entry, but I did finish it. I suppose I could submit it to you if you held another contest or project. Here is the first part of my pitch: "Bookkeeping is a routine business -- like death and taxes. Bookkeepers pay bills and process payroll; they help your firm avoid mixing finances and running afoul of -- yes -- the tax man.

At Alexilum, we aren’t your grandmother’s bookkeeping firm. We don’t just do the work, accept payment, then wait for your phone call next year or whenever a problem pops up. We are a partner fully committed to helping your firm understand its financials."

Dear Contest Holder -- Do you know the typical field(s) of the people on the receiving end of your pitch? For the pitch to be effective, prospects need to believe that you understand their fields and that your accounting business offers solutions to their particular problems. And... I asked because I want to write an effective pitch for your business. :)
