Contest Brief

I have an existing Magazine cover done in Photoshop and saved as a PSD. (idea_2 flattened image provided... message me for the editable PSD file, file too big to upload here)

We have based it on the style of UP magazine (provided)

We like the original concept but need a little graphic design sparkle.

The logo MUST NOT BE CHANGED!!!
The background photo MUST NOT BE CHANGED!!!

We like the colours in the square under the logo (the part with the date and issue number) the gold, the blue and white. This must follow similar colours throughout the front page... only changing these colours very slightly if required.

This area with the issue number and date could be improved slightly also, but keeping the same style with an arrow

We mainly need 2 or 3 main fonts selecting that will then follow through throughout the rest of the magazine.

We need some tweaks on the boxes, borders, drop shadows or whatever you need to do to make it look prettier but keeping with that format.

We don't like the the bookmark box coming in from the right with Local Information could do with something better and for the circle at the bottom about double page feature.

WE DON'T REQUIRE MASSIVE CHANGES TO THIS... Just some better fonts, styling on the boxes and shapes and maybe tweaking the colours slightly.

WE WILL REQUIRE THE PSD FILE BACK TO POSSIBLY EDIT FURTHER

  Yes you can add more, I like your entry and some of the effects. One problem is you have faded out the square border but it's still showing the bottom bit under the cars, not sure that was intentional but I think it shouldn't be there.

So far great ideas on the fonts and really like some of the circles in bottom right.
One thing though!! Really not liking the bookmark style box for the LOCAL INFORMATION. Not sure if would look better straight and all the way across, maybe a different style box. Or maybe we remove altogether to show more of the background photo (or would be too much space?!?!) ... some advice and try a few things on this please.

  Thanks for the advice, I think we will remove that bookmark bar altogether. I don't think it is necessary. The UP magazine as the example is more simple and looks better.

  It should take a graphic designer no more than half an hour. We only want the fonts changing and the box styles i.e. borders, drop shadows etc improving.

Hello there... I just saw your file... Aren't you gonna print this one?? If so, where is the bleed line?? any way I need just one answer... Do you need this cover in print ready format or just as it is... as I'm seeing it... it's in RGB color format without any bleed... do you need that or not...??

  well.. to setup file in Indesign you also need a bleed line in psd file... & I already made that... please see the proof color in InDesign before go to press... it will help you to understand the color tone more... anyway I just uploaded a image... which have zero flow for press print or indesign... thank you and bye
