Contest Brief

Design a stylised name logo for a newly established law firm specialising in class actions. The firm name is "Kameni Otok". The name means 'stone island'.

Relevant information:

- the meaning (i.e. stone) symbolises strength
- the preference is for monochromatic colours (black/white and shades between), but some subtle colour is acceptable
- the font selection for the documents it will appear on is 'equity' (google it) - the logo should look professional with that font;
- it will need to sit on a white printed page and needs to look good as a letterhead on a non-color printer;
- it should also be capable of making sit on a black background (e.g. a white version of the black logo) for presentations.

The winning entrant must provide the logo in a high resolution format (e.g. EPS). The author intends to retain the winner to prepare template business cards, letterhead, web graphics, presentations and other designs at a rate to be agreed (i.e. the prize money is for the logo only).

Some further thoughts having seen some early entries:

- keep any image simple and have the main focus on the words
- no scales of justice!
- no references to 'law' 'law firm' 'legal' etc.
- font should not be too modern

we are down to the top three designers - marjan095, skinheadesign and Logoexpert. Happy to receive new entries, but you should probably try something different as those three are very close to what we are after. For marjan095, skinheadesign and Logoexper, please confirm what font you are using because I need to confirm that I can use it (either freely or license it). Also, we have provided feedback on each of your entries, so I would appreciate if you could submit any final entries addressing that feedback as soon as possible. My preference is to see black and white logos side by side (or above and below) and no logos on book covers, textured paper, walls etc. For the final round of judging I want to be able to put the logo on a word document and see how it works with our chosen text.

Just finished this please have a look at it. I have made a logo which has no background that you can use anywhere and also a white and another with black background just to show that this can be used with any color and it will match. I've also done a sample latter head as well as sample business card so that you can have an idea on how you could also apply this logo within your contents even on websites.

I have consulted with the business owner - the use of circle is good, but please don't include the initials "KO" in the circle; also remember that the name itself should be most prominent. A small circle to one side (like entry #84) or a light circle behind the text might work
