Contest Brief

This business start up is a medical clinic that will provide Ketamine infusion treatments in the greater Nashville area. Ketamine is a well-researched, dissociative anesthetic that was approved by the FDA in 1970. Ketamine is known as an NMDA receptor antagonist. Many researchers are still searching for exactly how the medication can affect mood so rapidly and effectively, but what we do know is that ketamine works on glutamate, one of the most numerous neurotransmitters in the body. This increase in glutamate can cause a cascade effect of increased neural activity and communication in the brain. The areas of the brain which have shutdown due to over anxiety and depression, are suddenly awakened. Ketamine causes neuroplasticity, or new neural growth, a “rewiring” of the brain believed to play a big part in the lasting anti-depressant, anti-anxiety, and improved pain symptom effects.
Ketamine research supports the treatment of depression, PTSD, Anxiety, as well as chronic pain syndromes including: chronic regional pain syndrome , fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, neuropathic pain, amputation pain syndrome, and others.
Given ketamine is an anesthetic agent, anesthesiologists and CRNAs ( certified registered nurse anesthetists) are the medical professionals that are trained to dose, administer, and treat any potential side effects from the drug. Several ketamine clinics across the country have been opened and run by non-anesthesia trained providers.
We intend to provide:
- Infusions supervised by a Board-certified anesthesiologists for optimal dose and frequency to achieve maximal benefit from treatment.
-Co-administer propofol along with ketamine makes the patient’s experience more pleasant, if desired
-We will maximize the use of continuous physiologic monitoring on all patients all the time.
-We will employ only highly trained RN’s with experience and training in conscious sedation and the use of ketamine.
- Provide the infusion treatments in an up-scale comfortable environment "boutique ketamine treatment center"

In addition to the ketamine infusion treatment, we plan to offer wellness treatments including but not limited to: NAD+ infusion s and IV hydration therapy.
