Contest Brief

Wyndham City Council has previously developed a range of mobile apps used by internal staff to undertake a range of tasks such as building site reviews, vacant land audits and asset inspections.

Typically these mobile applications send data to an internal server, which is then used by administration staff for further processing. This project involves the development of a reporting tool for the data collected using our new Open Space Inspection app. The coding language to be used is PHP (Laravel framework preferred), HTML5, Javascript/JQUERY (Bootstrap mandatory). A database snippet will be provided in SQL Server.

The site will have two pages. Note all statistics will be easily generated using provided SQL queries/stored procedures.

Icons and logos will be provided. Design should be included for the application.

BASE REQUIREMENTS:

* PHP / MSSQL
* Bootstrap for the front end.
* Must be responsive.
* Simple and clean design preferred.
* Application should be hosted temporarily on your end and a URL should be provided for testing before acceptance.

    It seems that the daily breakdown queries #7 and #8 are wrong, should use a GROUP BY clause on Inspection date rather than a WHERE clause on an exact date?

    Is using PHP mandatory? Or can the same be coded using ASP.NET and SQL Server?

    I am working on project, but I don't see table "OS_GroupTypes" in schema and sample data. Do you forget including it?

      We have uploaded two additional files "OS_Schema_Assets_sql.txt" and "OS_Assets_Groups300516.xlsx" for the schema and data. Please see the updated data specification document regarding these. Thanks.

      Yes.. You could modify the queries to a minimum (ex- order by , union etc) and facilitate the end result through PHP.. Just be mindful of not having any performance issues and also the final query should still run in MSSQL for production..

      Also, SQL server express version is free if you'd like to give that a try.. https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/server-cloud/products/sql-server-editions/sql-server-express.aspx

      Framework such as Laravel / Codeigniter is preferred but not mandatory.. As long as the code is structured, even vanilla PHP will be considered..
