Contest Brief

Hi all,

I initially posted this as a job a couple of weeks ago. I had so many people interested. However, it is difficult for me to look through everyone's pages and portfolios so I am going to do it this way instead.

I am looking for around 15 illustrations and a cover illustration for my picture book which will be an ebook. The type of illustrations I am looking for are 'beautiful, magical and enchanting ' rather than cartoon style, if that makes sense. The story is about wishing on a dandelion hence the magical theme.

I would like to see a magical style picture of a dandelion clock and forest style theme, including a little boy if you have time, and I will choose my illustrator based on this picture. I will not be awarding the money for all 15 illustrations until completion , rather than on selection of illustrator/end of contest. I will pay £300 for all illustrations that I require. I will pay £20 for this contest. We will sort out payment following selection.

    Greetings, contest holder, please check entry #21 , i've created a sketch for the character of the boy. I think that the scene in which he blows the dandelion should look something like that, with a close up of the boy. We can do another page with him running to the hill with his kite. Thank you!

      Hi David,
      My character would be less cartoon like and maybe dark hair, olive skinned with quite scruffy clothes..i.e he is not from a wealthy family.
      Here are a few lines from the section with the boy:

      The early morning breeze brought a little boy and his kite to the hill. The boy gasped as he saw the dandelion's fluffy cloud and grabbing it tight in one hand, he blew with all his might.
      "Make a wish!" , his mother said.

    Ok, Am a very serious illustrator and hard worker in here. I really love the charming idea about this book, such a concepts gives me the space to create, imagine and enjoy working on, and this takes my effort physically and mentally so i can't really work with that budget, I was about to create you a sample illustration, but now I really hope that you will find someone who can bring Charm to your charm idea of this dandelion. thank you

    It depends, what is the size of one illustration? Is it spread"open book size" or single page ? and I'd like to have a look into the text.I can give you a sample of one illustrations of the book first.
