Contest Brief
Your brief is to design the concept for the ultimate ecotourist cabins and accommodation. Our prized land is located in a relatively cool climate, set 1000m above sea level in the picturesque Towac Valley in the Upper Molong Creek Catchment and surrounded by apple and cherry orchards, national parks and cool climate vineyards near Orange in NSW, Australia.
We are seeking an energy efficient or even "off the grid" north facing design featuring solar energy, capture and re-use of rainwater.
The design should feature at least some corrugated iron cladding.
We have, in stage 1, an area of 631m2 - so we are seeking a concept layout featuring a mixture of studio rooms, 1 bedroom suites and 2 bedroom (or family suites). The design should appeal to a discerning yet environmentally conscious clientele. Your design/s should reflect your climate awareness.
The awarded freelance designer is expected to be invited back to conduct the detailed design phase for the concept they submit as well as to assist in the masterplan layout of the project in general. Please only submit your concept if you are willing to continue onto the next phase of the project.
