I'm a native Chinese-speaker and an experienced Chinese-to-English and English-to-Chinese translator and reviewer. Although I've never had formal education in translation (I have a Master degree in science), but I've been doing this for over 7 years at home. I've had projects from translation houses, software companies, .com companies, travel agencies, local government, ... I'm especially proud of the quality of my work. I often review my own translation by reading through it 3 to 4 times; not just to correct the typo, more importantly, I want to make sure the best fluency and readability. When it comes to subject that requires domain knowledge, I do enough research on my own so that the results are of the best quality. I can do both Traditional and Simplified Chinese, I know the differences of common terms between different Chinese-speaking countries. One other strong suit of mine is I'm especially good at translating syntax-sensitive documents like software resource files, HTML, XTML files. I know very well what must be translated and what must not so that syntax rules are not broken, because I've done programming and HTML authoring before.
