I am a professional voiceover artist with my own broadcast quality studio. I am a flexible voiceover with a deep, resonant assured voice. I am a former BBC announcer.
What do you voice?
A wide variety of material. I voice audio books, commentaries for documentaries or corporate videos, web promotions, radio, TV & cinema commercials, exhibition videos, English versions of non-English films, even transport station announcements! I can voice Standard English or many styles; there are audio samples on my site.
What equipment have you got?
I have a broadcast quality studio with Neumann U87 microphone, a Yamaha digital mixer and I edit the recordings using Adobe Audition software. You can have files as either large .wav or .aiff files (better for video editing) or .mp3 files at any data rate. Most clients ask for 128kb/sec. Choose the mp3 option if it’s for direct uploading to a website, Powerpoint use or for a phone answering service.
What do you need from clients?
- A script, which is fully checked, please! Read it aloud yourself…does it make sense; is the grammar good?
- Are there any difficult or unusual pronunciations such as people’s names or place names I won’t be able to find out the pronunciation of? Please write these words out phonetically for me please or why not send me an mp3 file.
- What style do you need from me? Listen to my samples and let me know.
- Is time an issue? Do I have to get everything into a set exact time?
How quick is the turnaround time?
Usually the same day, with files sent by e-mail for by a file transfer service.
If there are any problems with the recording, I will re-do at the soonest opportunity.
As a professional former BBC voiceover you must be very expensive?
No, as I’d rather be busy daily than just read big budgets scripts when they come in!
Take advantage of my generosity!
