Jacobson Trucking – Des Moines, IA Duties: short term contract for company-wide software inventory and upgrade of desktop software. 04/2003 to 09/2003 – Sales Agent Duties: call on rural and self-employed clients to introduce and sell long term care and health insurance packages. 10/2000 to 01/2003 – Iowa Foundation for Medical Care (IFMC) – Project Lead – 6000 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA Duties: to lead and supervise a staff of Oracle DBA’s and Oracle PL/SQL programmers to fulfill the needs of DHHS/CMS (formerly HCFA). This is accomplished by developing the database and underlying functions and procedures to store collected data in a nationwide system of databases and a national repository. Staff consists of 3 Oracle DBA’s, 1 DB2 DBA, and 4 PL/SQL programmers. Attended requirements meetings in Baltimore, MD with representatives from DHHS; coordinated requirements and design meetings in Des Moines. Developed project plans and resource usage budgets; maintained timelines; worked with resources from various departments to accomplish overall goals of projects; developed documentation using Word, MS-Project, Visio, Excel; oversaw development of deliverables. Also responsible for coaching team and performance evaluations. 07/2000 to 10/2000 – Technisource – consultant at Automatic Data Processing (ADP) – West Des Moines, IA Duties: development and maintenance of unix scripts for running of batch processes, focusing mainly on movement of data to and from various benefits vendors. 09/1995 to 07/2000 – Sprint Corp – Kansas City, MO Technical Team Lead/Supervisor of Systems Development – 612 W 47th St., Kansas City, MO Duties: To lead a team of software engineers in a data warehouse development project, utilizing mainframe batch jobs, Unix (Sun Solaris system), Oracle 7 and 8, SQL, PL/SQL, and unix and Constellar scripts. Main objectives of this position are to provide project management and support for the development staff, which consists of between 7 and 15 permanent and contract employees, depending upon current needs of the project. Duties also include ongoing maintenance and support of several Oracle applications. Coordinated and attended requirements meetings with senior Sprint staff. Coordinated design meetings with development staff; oversaw the design and development of projects; worked closely with project manager to ensure that other development groups were producing quality deliverables; maintained timelines and resource usage budgets; ensured that all necessary documentation was developed and delivered on time; oversaw development of deliverables; developed documentation using Word, MS-Project, Visio, Excel. Periodically on call for production problems. Particular area of influence has been performance enhancements. Responsible for setting up and monitoring migrations to production environment. Involved in client problem resolution, client adhocs with SORT, SAS, and other utilities. 09/95 to 08/99 Acting Supervisor of Systems Development Duties: Supervise all aspects of a team of 8 programmers, including work scheduling and tracking, performance appraisals, systems analysis, problem management, development, testing and migration, and interaction with other management personnel. The duties of the team are in the preceeding description. Coordinated and attended requirements meetings with senior Sprint staff. Coordinated design meetings with development staff; oversaw the design and development of projects; worked closely with project manager to ensure that other development groups were producing quality deliverables; maintained timelines and resource usage budgets; ensured that all necessary documentation was developed and delivered on time; oversaw development of deliverables; developed documentation using Word, MS-Project, Visio, Excel. Also responsible for coaching team and performance evaluations. 10/97 to 05/98 10/1994 to 09/1995 - Midwest Consulting Group - Programmer/Analyst - 2400 Grand, Suite 500, Kansas City, MO 64109. Duties: Assigned to CDS team at Sprint, 901 E. 104th. Duties include writing and maintaining batch cobol code and problem resolution. See preceeding. 09/1991 to 10/1994 - Affiliated Computer Systems - 2828 N. Haskell, Dallas, TX 75221. CICS Systems Programmer Duties: Maintenance of all CICS tables in 300+ region environment for 125+ clients. Generation of specialized cobol and assembler code for internal CICS utilities. Third party vendor product install and customization. Problem resolution including, but not limited to: transaction dump analysis, system abend dump analysis, helping clients debug code, and interaction with system techs at IBM. ## Area of Expertise Techology and infrastructure management, specifically around capacity planning and management and storage. Management and design of large storage arrays, raid types specific to use, layout of disk and identifying best practices specific to the architecture and nature of the application(s).
