DESIGNER, Alice by Temperley I was responsible for all aspects of my product groups, through the whole design and development process, from concept to completion, working with the Creative Director and the Head Designer on a day-to-day basis and working closely with the Product Development team to realise the product through the initial factory pack, fitting proto and SMS samples. My role included: -Concept and garment research and moodboards -Developing the seasonal colour and fabric concepts -Visiting Premier Vision and TexWorld to source new fabrics --Garment shape and detail design -Artwork design and development, including embroidery, beading, embellishment and fabric manipulations -Sourcing suitable prints and artworks from print libraries and swatch studios when required -Print design and development including scarves -Technical garment drawing and detailed specifications for factories -Liaising with the Product Development team on technical and finishing details -Making up 3D detail or part-garment samples for factories where necessary -Fitting and developing all samples -CAD for artworks, garment specs, colour ups and layouts for presentation using Photoshop and Illustrator -Training and managing junior team members -Managing my own workload and meeting deadlines on the critical path -Delivering commercial products, consistently at the top of bestselling reports -I was a key member of the team that developed the collection, creating a 30%+ growth in sales by refining the identity and market position of the line PROJECTS In addition to my role I undertook a variety of projects including -John Lewis Childrenswear, Somerset Collection, design, fittings and review -JBC Womens and Girls Collection, design, fittings and review -Filofax, branded special edition design -Elle magazine, branded bag for magazine give-away -Harpers Bazaar union jack dress for editorial shoot -Assisting at showtime for London Fashion Week
