I’m also an Excel freak : ask me anything it’s my preferred topic. Here is examples of what I can do in one cell formula and the time I need :
- Make a time difference between 2 datetime values while removing nights and weekends in the count : useful for workhour calculations (15 minutes).
- Make a single formula converting a text to a barcode 128 code, it’s useful everywhere, just buy a usb laser scanner. Including the checksum char at the end (1 hour).
- Search a list of 300+ data (keywords, value) to find if one keyword is present in the target cell text and, if one is found, give the corresponding value (5 minutes)
- Count the minimum of (x-y)^2, for x in column C and y in column D, if the values in column A are either 1 or 2, and the values in column B are equal to “2019”. (5 minutes)
- Last formula I made for a laboratory : search a table with duplicate lines, find the line where to search the samples list, find the column where the sample “S2342” is present, then find the lines where “Iron” is listed, look in the intersections of this, look if there is a value that is not null, take it, change the coma with a dot and finally convert it into a number. (3-4 hours)...
