Being a site reliability engineer, I have worked on different different projects and support services related to disaster recovery, incident management, automation and visibility engineering. No matter how cautious you are systems are tend to break and when it breaks you better be prepared to recover it before it damages your business. I love working towards such disaster recovery scenario/ Business continuity plans. As the architecture grows, SRE can not handle everything. You got to build automation on top of your system to decrease toil and better productive work. SREs are the first line of defense for your internet store and they should have very good knowledge about how to manage incident. I try my best to master this pillar. With big architecture with thousands of services, you need to monitor it efficiently and try to get the snapshot of the system. Currently I am working on building monitoring infrastructure at LinkedIn.
