My undergrad degree is in Mathematics, and my graduate degree is in Computer Science. I worked for many years as a software engineer with Hughes Aircraft Company, Ground Systems Group, in Fullerton, California. My primary function at Hughes was writing device drivers for automatic test equipment on the ADCAP Mark 48 torpedo program. I was eventually laid off due to cutbacks and discovered that my Hughes experience was not of interest to any company that did not have a torpedo that needed programming, and I found myself displaced from the workforce. I am trying now to establish myself on Freelancer as a data analyst/manager and overall Excel guru. I have very strong VBA programming skills with specific expertise in designing and maintaining relational databases. Yes, Excel can be used for this purpose, with VBA code. Excel is far more than a simple spreadsheet. In fact, Excel provides a very robust and flexible platform in support of general purpose software applications development. When contemplating an application, many organizations will spend a great deal of money buying expensive and esoteric hardware/software resources. However, this expense is often unnecessary, as Excel may be well able to handle the job at minimal or no additional cost. I would like to find work on Freelancer using Excel for database applications development, or for any little Excel chore that might come up. I would enjoy such work, and I will guarantee satisfaction. In this regard, I will never ask payment until the task is complete and my client is fully satisfied with the deliverable.
