This is one of the most common WordPress errors and it should be pretty quick and easy to fix. Was the site previously working and has suddenly developed the error or is it a new WordPress installation? In either case, assuming that the database hasn't been deleted then it isn't going to be a big problem. As long as we can log into the WordPress admin and connect to the VPS command line then I could get it sorted out for you very quickly.
