450972 Perceptual Discovery Matrix

The Perceptual Matrix is a robust analytical software tool for generating defendable, compelling insights using qualitative and/or quantitative research data. Unlike basic spreadsheet or high-end data-mining tools, an Perceptual Matrix can recognize and visualize patterns of correlation between varying types of data sets to help foster higher-level insights. A Perceptual Matrix is composed of either a list to compare to itself or two different lists. The lists create the X and Y axis of the matrix and the resulting intersections are scored according to how strongly related the items are to one another. Clusters resulting from the scoring provide higher-level insights about the research data. Providing a general approach to integrate different types of research data and a means to appraise the relationships within the data in a visual format, this tool is excellent for analyzing complex research data to create powerful insights that lay a pathway to innovative new concepts. I have the visual basic code for an excel add-in of the app that can be used to expand the purpose of the matrix to search for relations between signs of any kind (icons, symbols, pictures, etc.) Attached you can find a picture of the output of the cluster that the app generates working with list of sentences or phrases (made of words). The idea is that the same process, clusters resulting from the scoring of sentences, can be made in relation to images, or other kind of symbols. Not only word sentences, but also over icons and images that evoque a meaning different from the firs level meaning. Today this app runs as an addin within Excel, an only over Windos. The idea in now that the app can run on iPad, on Windows and over Mac doing the same thing (with word sentences) plus the image and symbol input. The idea is always work over list: a list of sentences, a list of pictures, a list of icons, a list of symbols, etc. So, one thing to do is to build a form a list visualization that allows to input words sentences, imagens or pictures. The list can be imported from other sources (Word list, Excel list, image selection, etc.) and create the list within the application. Second, to visualize this lists in the Perceptual Matrix. see image attached Third, score the relation between each list in two modes: one list over the same list score, and, two different list score. (This can be explained better if you need more clarification) Fourth, to run a cluster analysis (code provided in visual basic for applications) and something you can make in another language, because is an Excel independent application. First, that can run on iPad and then on Windows and Mac. Fifth, to create the user interface (options and visual provided by me) for the process of analysis and the visualization of results. Six, Export the results to pdf, excel, and other formats.
