I need a small Vue.JS project that parses Excel into json

I've been working on this all afternoon and now you can have it. I need a vue project that will read an Excel file and put the column headers into an array and put the entire file into a JSON object. I've tried using SheetJS but I can't get the external references set. I've tried using npm install but it throws errors. The ode that you produce in your Vue project will be added to my application. The solution must be written so that can go into production. If you know of a better way I will consider that if it is better not just easier. Please do not use excel-as-json - npm because it has reports of it stops working
