Linux developer required with experience of file systems, caching, log files, RAM for performance and tuning project.
We are using raspberry pi3 for our monitoring system application and have SD card wearing out issues. We have tried the raspbian read-only overlay fixes and moved our application files to an external USB drive but are still having issues so we believe the SD card is still being written to even in read only mode.
We would like a developer to do a performance analysis and tuning work to remove all logging/caching to the SD card.
We would like the developer to analyse the writes happening at disk level and remove any unnecessary writes. We have read about CWID write issues that needs investigating. A review of fstab and how filesystems are mounted and /var/log etc..
It will require solid file system expertise and Linux programming knowledge.
Previous expertise is essential, ideally where problems with SD cards have been overcome.
We ideally want to work with someone in the UK due to time zone working but will consider other locations as we are looking for someone that has relevant and demonstrable experience of this kind of issue.
Thanks in advance,
Mark
I'm a Mechatronics Engineer graduated from Ain Shams University in 2017. I hold a German statement of comparability for my bachelor’s degree. I'm working on Raspberry pi since the last 3 years. I'm developing new project to my smart home. I'm sure I can develop this project in a minimum time.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you very soon. Thank you.
Have you tried to use the inotify system service to detect recording on an SD card?
If you can figure out which files are being written to, you can determine who does this.
